When life gives you lemons...week 14!



So we're on week 14 now! It's been a busy couple of weeks for us that's for sure. Last week i had i think a total of five holiday parties! Let's just say i was pretty whooped by the end of the week. I went from not going out at all to being up late almost every day. I did have a three day weekend which really helped me catch up on christmas shopping and cleaning around the house. 

So not much new is going on in baby-land. I'm feeling a lot better and my appetite seems to be starting to ramp up. Sometimes i don't feel like i'm eating enough, but i guess you only really need 300 extra calories a day. That isn't much when you think about it, it's about two yogurts. I think i'm starting to get a tiny belly ( I promise i'll post pics soon, when we take some!) Supposedly in the next couple weeks i should officially pop out so we'll see. I bought my first maternity clothes this weekend. We were at burlington coat factory and they had maternity jeans for $15 bucks. They fit pretty good , so i got two pair. I'm hoping that will be enough to last me.

We've been discussing names a lot lately. It's been hard narrowing them down, but i think we have a few girls and boys names that we like so far. I'm not going to reveal them just yet tho, sorry :-)

12 Weeks!

I hit the 12 week mark this past thursday..whoohoo, 3 months! I still have one official week of my first trimester tho! I had another doctors appointment on friday. I got to hear the heartbeat again which was awesome! It was a racing 169bpm! In about 6 weeks or so we should be able to find out if we're having a boy or girl!! I can't wait! We've been trying to decide on names, but i think it will be a little easier once we can focus on a certain gender. I just can't wait to start planning...picking out room colors and registering for baby gear!

Well another weekend is gone...and another work week starts tomorrow! Fortunately the holidays are coming up, so there are quite a few parties this week to make the week go by fast! I also have a couple days off xmas week, so i can relax and get some stuff done around the house!

11 Weeks!

Yesterday marked my 11th week milestone. It seemed like it would be forever until i was towards the end of my first trimester, but now it's right around the corner. It's exciting to be almost 1/3 of the way there! It's also a countdown until we can see if we're having a boy or girl, which should be around 20 weeks or so (hopefully a few weeks sooner than that :-)) I can't wait to find out what we're having...mostly so i can start SHOPPING!!

So, i'm continually feeling better and better as the weeks go by..THANK GOD! If you ask me what i'm hungry for, I still couldn't really give you an answer, but I think that's slowly getting better. I've been pretty tired this week too. Coming off of Thanksgiving break, it was hard to adjust to the busy work day. But, today is friday and I finally have a couple days to sleep in and relax.

10 Weeks and Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm 10 weeks today...double digits! Only a couple more weeks to go until i'm done with the first trimester!!!! Today is also Thanksgiving. I'm excited to see my family. Most of them know about the baby, but it will be fun to talk about it in person. I'm still on the climb to feeling better. I still have moments of feeling yucky, but for the most part its been ok. I'm eating a lot more, a lot of fruit! That is the one thing i can eat at any time and always sounds good. I still feel like I'm having a boy...we have about 10 weeks still until we can find out tho. So basically, we have a calm 10 weeks because after we find out...let the planning begin!!! I can plan colors for the baby's room and start buying stuff!! Most importantly, we can really focus on deciding on a name.

Well I'm off to rest up before the big day out! Happy Thanksgiving!

8 weeks!

Well a lot has happened since i last wrote! Last week we had our first ultrasound. We were able to see the baby and see and hear the heartbeat! It was pretty neat to see what was in there since I can't feel anything and I'm not showing yet. Everything checked out fine and the baby was right on track with size. We got some pics to take home too!

We've told a few more people! We saw Paul's family last weekend and told them the news. They were very excited! Paul has also told a couple of friends and coworkers!

Today we had another doctors appoint to go over my bloodwork and family history. Everything checked out great! My next appointment is December 10 and we should be able to hear the heartbeat again! I'll also be at the very end of my first trimester at that time as well!

Symptoms:
I definitely have a lot more symptoms than when i last wrote, but it hasn't been terribly bad. I have good and bad days. I mostly feel crappy all of the time and don't feel like eating much. I'm looking forward to getting my appetite back and feeling like going out and doing stuff.

The beginning!

Well It's official, WE'RE EXPECTING! We found out October 14th.  We knew we wanted to start trying a couple months after the wedding, but I didn't expect it to happen this soon. We're super excited, but still a little nervous too. As of today, I'm 5weeks, 5 days. Since it's still early, we're trying not to do too much planning until we're out of the first trimester. It's so hard tho, there's so much to think about!

Symptoms:
So far i don't have a ton of symptoms. Sometimes i feel kinda yucky, but the main symptom i have is bloating. I have bad gas pains and always feel like i need to burp. I'm praying that my next 6 weeks or so don't get much worse than this.


My first Dr. Appt. 
Today i had my first doctor's appointment to confirm the pregnancy. Everything looks good so far, but there's not much they can see as of now. Next week, I have an ultrasound and we should hear the heartbeat! I think once we see that, it will definitely be more real.
